TOH Season 46
Nashville Brick Cottage
Builder: GTZ Construction, LLC | Stagers: Bungalow Home Stagers: Spark Vintage Rentals | Stylist: Colson Horton | Photographer: Amy Lamb/NativeHouse Photography
The Nashville Brick Cottage is the first project featured in Season 46 of This Old House. Nashville, known as Music City, USA, is famous for its music scene, but it is also prone to tornadoes. In 2020, an EF-3 tornado struck East Nashville, damaging many homes, including this project house. Although the house was repaired, the work was poorly done by storm chasers.
The new homeowners have long dreamed of restoring an old house to call their own. Now, with many existing repairs needed, they have decided to fulfill this dream. Their goals are to create more livable space, modernize the home, and build a safe room where their young family can seek refuge in future tornadoes while maintaining the historic look inside and out.
