BEFORE + AFTER

BLACK AND MOODY BATHROOM

A fairly straightforward renovation — taking out the old and bringing in the new — upgraded this bathroom from 1980s builder-grade utilitarian to a classic, black, white, brass, and artistic space with a high-end feel.

The bold use of black, chosen by the homeowner to embrace a moody vibe that aligns with the overall aesthetic of the house, symbolizes power, elegance, and comfort.

While black can sometimes feel heavy, here it creates a sense of calm, much like the relief a migraine sufferer finds in a dark room.

Without a dedicated powder room, where design is often amped up, this bathroom needed to have the same captivating power for guests. Overall, design expectations were achieved, delivering a unique guest experience.
